Hooper Valentine Exchange 2016
by Philo Hagen
Hooping.org has been all about spreading the hoop love since 2003. And guess what? With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s once again time for our annual Hooper Valentine Exchange. Yay! Would you like to share some hoop love with another hooper somewhere in the world? Would you like to have a little more hoop love in your life? If you answered yes to both of these questions, we’re so excited! Cause it’s all about giving some hoop love to get some hoop love. Don’t ask to be included in our annual Hooper Valentine Exchange if you’re not fully committed to sending some hoop love out to somebody. Got it? Good.
You see, dear hooper, while the hoop love exchange is always fun, let’s pretend for a second that you’ve spent some time coming up with a cool hooper valentine. You packaged it all up and decorated it and got it in the mail to get to them on time with room to spare. Only when you excitedly checked your mailbox for your hooper valentine to arrive, nothing came. That doesn’t feel good, does it? It’s kind of the opposite of spreading that hoop love and kind of defeats the purpose. That’s why we’re so glad you’re into sending something out. If you’re committed to making sure that doesn’t happen to anyone on your end, read on and let’s spread some super duper hoopy love this Valentine’s Day!
To help facilitate lower mailing costs and speedier valentine arrivals, we will once again be doing what we can to make smart valentine connections geographically by country or continent. That being said, we may wind up with a hooper or two needing to send their valentine to someone that lives far away. We’ll be working to avoid that scenario, but it might happen to you. Still interested? Awesome, because we want to be as inclusive of everyone who wants to participate in our Hooper Valentine Exchange 2016 as possible.
Now some of you are probably wondering, what does a hooper valentine look like? Well, it could be something hand-made or store-bought. It could be something super extravagant or beautifully affordable. It could be very hooperiffic specific for hoopers or just super valentiney. It’s really all up to you. Whatever you want to send them is perfect. Just be sure to pop it in the mail with adequate time for it to get there before Valentine’s Day. Then, as Valentine’s Day approaches, keep an eye out for some hoop love coming your way too.
If you’re committed to the exchange this year, welcome! Thanks for joining us on our Valentine’s Day 2016 hoop love spreading mission. Here’s what you do to participate in Hooper Valentine Exchange 2016.
1) Send an email to hoopervalentines2016@gmail.com with your snail mail name and mailing address a written commitment to send a hooper valentine to someone else. Participation commitment emails are being accepted until Friday, February 5th at 11:59 PST.
2) Get your hooper valentine together and ready to mail.
3) Watch your email inbox this weekend for an email response containing the name and address of the person you will be sending hoop love to this year.
4) Put the name and address on your hooper valentine and get it in the mail with enough time for them to receive it for Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is a Sunday this year so shoot for having it there early.
That’s it. Here’s wishing everyone a very hoopy Valentine’s Day and please help us out by spreading the word about our annual Hooper Valentine Exchange too so we can spread more hoop love this year to more hoopers than ever before.
